After a tense standoff with protesters at the Occupy SF encampment on Justin Herman Plaza, city officials dismantled the camp early this morning, transforming the six-week-old tent city housing hundreds of people back to its original state in a matter of hours.

All across the Mission, candidates for a number of offices gave their last-minute pitches to residents. Whether it was a decked-out trolley, a convoy of low riders or volunteers passing out signs, the Mission was alive with electioneering.

A 100 to 150 activist converged in Downtown San Francisco to protest the killing of Charles Hill by BART police and the organizations move to kill cell service in its stations to preempt a protest. The protest crippled BART service in the downtown area for at least an hour.

Over the past months, I’ve been experimenting in Photoshop with tweaking photos to make them look more cartoonish and their colors vibrant. I found that the manipulations involving the cutout filter produced some awesome visuals, especially with photographs with explosive and diverse colors and clear-cut shapes. Over this next week, I’ll be publishing a number of my photos I have tweaked in this way.
